As rustic as tree bark!

Consistency is a virtue that I apparently lack! Lace weight, worsted weight, bulky weight I can do it all and in the same skein! I want you to know how brave I am to even post this photo to the spinning world. I'm told that one day I will want to reproduce the 'firsts' of spinning and won't be able to. I know I am gullible but....

Notice the subtle hints of grey. I had some grey roving that's as soft as a Brillo pad and looks as good as the contents of a vacuum cleaner bag but hey.... it spun right up. Don't I have an eye for color? You want to see a fabulous first spun skein on a spindle no less? Check Nova's skills I wish she lived on my street! No, I'm not jealous nor defeated, I'm doing this thing! I've got you all holding my hand and walking me through. I am not alone!

It looks great to me!

Did you ply it? I can't tell from the photo. Plying evens things out a lot.

So you spun a "thick and thin". Spinners try to do that all the time and it takes too much concentration. Guess what? I can't do that when I am trying. So, YES, it is an extremely valuable skein. Cherish it. Once you can spin an even thread, it'll be hard to do a thick and thin. Make a potholder or something. Maybe a hotpad for your table. c

Well I think it's lovely! I love the way you have presented it in the photo.

We're in this together!

I like the colors! And I think the thick thin would look great knitted on big needles! (Got some myself that I'm actually looking forward to using when I have time to knit for myself!)

This looks AWESOME! The Kureyon I just finished using was thick then thin all over. You just made designer yarn! What does it feel like? Is it soft at all?

Are you kidding?! That is a great first go, good job!
