These sweaters happened to be in one of my stash drawers when I was searching today. I must be saving them for a grandchild because they are toddler sized so obvioulsy knit sometime ago.
I still have the pattern for this green one. The entire yolk is cables as well as the wrist ribbing and the waist. The pattern has 1989 written on it. Probably wool/acrylic.
Same with this buttery yellow a toddler size as well. It also has cables at the wrist and waist and on the front although a different pattern. The neck fastens with a button on the right side. It's all cotton.
This isn't that old of course. It's Fiber Trends Leaf Lace Shawl. The first shawl I knit and it's in Knitpicks Sock Memories merino fingering weight. I love it although it's a bit on the small side if you like a larger shawl. I'm wearing it right now. It's amazing the warmth generated to your shoulders and back from a nice shawl. I remember not long before I knit this I wondered what all the fuss was over shawls!!

To Magnify...........
Can you guess? That's my magnifying glass of course! This is what it takes to thread a needle these days. I've been noticing so many great sewing projects on some wonderful blogs that I want to SEW SOMETHING. What? I'm not so sure. I'll be thinking about that. Check these blogs for some sewing finesse:

Gumbo-Lily great enbroidery too!
Esther here is displaying my newest acquisition of gorgeous yarn to magnify my stash. That's Queensland Kathmandu DK in yellow tweed with flecks of all the rainbow colors. I love this yarn but then I am partial to tweeds. I thought 12 skeins should do the trick. WEBS offered a deal I couldn't pass up. So, now I need a pattern!

This can be a quick knit if you aren't knitting a half dozen other things at the same time. It's Mac & Me Ruffle Scarf 050 pattern. She also has a shawl that is very similar. Our LYS, Needle on the Square has the shawl knit up and it's quite elegant. Blue Sky Aplaca/Silk, DK on 4 & 6 needles. You know how I 'have' to change something? The row of eyelet (yo, k2tog) was added. It's on the shawl pattern but not this one and I think it adds to the lacey elegance of the scarf. Of course I didn't add it to the first ruffle, it was an after thought but I am NOT going to take it out now.

Long Lost Mittens
I'm ashamed to say when these were started besides I don't even remember. It was Adam at AdamKnits that got me to thinking about these beauties. I love the grey and yellow. It's Debbie Bliss DK Merino. The pattern is called 'Corazon' from Knitty.com. Why they are on the back burner I don't know. But I have them out now and will get to them very soon. I should like to wear them this winter!!! Check Adam's fabulous mittens too!

Wrap or Scarf or Both
The Vine Stitch Wrap pattern is from the Vogue, Shawls little mini book. The one on the left is my scarf version leaving some repeats out. It's Berroco Ultra Alpaca a wonderful yarn and an excellent deal for the yardage of 215! I think the color is called, "Potting Soil Mix". Isn't that a crazy name? I'm on an alpaca kick I think. Next is the royal blue (although you can't tell it here!) Knitpicks Shine Sport cotton (the suggested yarn for this is cotton). I bought the yarn a while back for a summer top that just didn't turn out so it was frogged. Knitting with it here is mainly to get rid of the yarn. I started the Vine Stitch Wrap on size 9's as the pattern required but it was horrible. Changed to a 7 and it's a remarkable difference. I even like it! Check the link and click on the 'view more images' it's the key lime green one in the last set.
